Overview

Riverquest (“we”, “the app”) is a location-based game set along the Danube in Vienna. This policy describes what data we collect, why we need it, and your choices.

Account data

If you sign in with Google, we receive your Google account identifier, email address, display name, and profile picture. We use this solely to identify your account and sync game progress across devices. We do not sell or share your personal data with third parties for advertising.

Location data

The app uses your device’s GPS to verify proximity quests — for example, check-ins at the Reichsbrücke or Donauinsel. Location coordinates are sent to our servers only when you attempt or complete a location-based quest. We do not track your location continuously or in the background.

Game progress

Your stage, points, and completed quests are stored locally on your device for offline play and synced to our cloud servers when you are signed in and online.

Leaderboards & social

If you participate in leaderboards, your display name and score may be visible to other players. Friend features, when available, only share information you explicitly choose to share.

Data retention

Account and progress data is retained while your account is active. You may request deletion of your account and associated data by contacting us.
